on weaving...and time

Since a few years, Le Pape dedicates the first studio hour to daily practice on a long-commitment project.

After "52 weeks of fight against myself" in 2015/2016, and "Diffusion" in 2017/2018, she started a new project in 2018, that is supposed to take a life's time: weaving a single square everyday, organised in advance on various gradient color schemes, and interrogating at the same time her perpetual wonder on color, and the value of artistic practice as a real job.

These weaving projects find a counterpoint into the artist's drawing practice, that usually respond to an impulsive need of a quick technique, and always turns up into repetitive series.
